Data Engineer
What you’ll do
At Stryda you'll join the BI team to take ownership (inherit and build) of building out and maintaining the company’s data stack. Our data stack is used to gather insights on our playerbase, managing how they interact with our platform and the games they play.
You will take ownership of data integrations, both from our internal systems and external sources. Transforming data to deliver insights, take initiatives, combine and complement existing datasets to bring new actionable insights to the teams and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Ownership of data stack; structuring data and building analytical models
- Takes initiative to bring ideas on how to bring data to life, having the drive and capability to do so
- Explore, drive, design and implement solutions for deployment/monitoring pipelines
- Maintaining BI middleware (used to pipe & transform game data)
- Building out data integrations, BigQuery warehouse and Looker modelling
- Ownership of data integrity of these solutions

You are curious and not afraid of going out of your comfort zone to learn new things, from testing new functionality or creating a ML proof of concept.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience creating ETL/ELT flows from raw data to cleaned and structured data that is ready for analysis
- Data modelling experience in SQL and building data pipelines
- Experience working with Kafka or similar technologies
- Experience in Python/Java
- Data Modelling
- GCP/AWS experience
- Experience in monitoring and testing data pipelines
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or similar technical field
It’s a plus if you have experience with
- Dataform/dbt
- Looker & an ETL software (Segment, mParticle, Stitch, etc.)
- Data Science, time series clustering models
